HIGHLIGHTS

Because of the constant threat of hurricanes, BCI was contracted to rehabilitate the shoreline along Patrick’s Bayou. This project was extremely challenging due to the limited access to the Bayou. BCI’s customer had live process units within feet of the water’s edge. BCI’s scope included digging out the bank of the bayou and driving sheet piles for protection against erosion as well as installing FFR behind the sheet pile into the bayou. Once that was complete, BCI backfilled against the sheeting piling and poured concrete aprons for runoff protection. To add another layer of difficulty, the project work site was deemed a super fund site so there was a lot of documentation and environment protection measure BCI had to implement and track. The project duration was 10 months and BCI rehabilitated over 1,000 feet of shoreline without a safety incident.
