Due to the high profile and aggressive schedule of this project, BCI was contracted to replace over 4,700’ of FRP piping ranging in sizes from 4-18” in diameter. BCI handled all material procurement and shop fabrication of all FRP pipe spools. BCI’s Iron Crew added structural members for the new FRP piping while pipe was being fabricated. Once receiving FRP pipe spools onsite, BCI’s FRP crews started installing FRP spools next to existing vent line to minimize downtime of operations and shorten the outage schedule. Once the outage began, BCI had over 60 craftsmen onsite including FRP Techs, Ironworkers, and Crane Operators. Even with supply chain/procurement issues with the FRP material, BCI executed this project ahead of the original schedule, including outage duration, saving our customer precious time in their production schedule. On top of saving our customer money in the schedule we also saved on subcontractor mark-ups because BCI self-performed every discipline in this scope. BCI executed this whole project without a safety incident.
